His grandfather’s nephew, a man with a mysterious past, is named guardian of the property and soon arrives to take up his duty. Unfortunately, the man has a son who is both evil and cunning. Since he stands to inherit the estate should Jeremy die, he will stop at nothing to get his hands on the property.Murder and threats of murder soon haunt their every move. Standing between them and disaster is the handsome Lord Westerfield, a man who promises to defend Anne and Jeremy, even at risk to his own life.

Editorial Reviews

ormat: Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase Five Star ReviewThis was a very enjoyable book to read! The characters were charming and very likable. Anne and her brother Jeremy must endure yet another death of a loved one, their grandfather. They had just lost their parents while living in India. With the death of their grandfather, Jeremy is next in line for inheritance but he must have a guardian. That guardian is a long lost nephew, Mr. Tyler. Anne is burdened with grief, worries for Jeremy, and possibly becoming homeless should Mr. Tyler turn her out. Lord Westerfield is a childhood acquaintance whom Anne has not seen in years. He becomes her ally when suspicious events occur and Jeremy's life is in danger. Lord Westerfield is kind, compassionate, and is a true hero. Anne is caring and unassuming. It is obvious they have great chemistry together. The story also has mystery, suspense, action, and a very clean, sweet romance. A well-written book that I would probably read again!
