Isobel Blackthorn is a novelist, book reviewer and English tutor. She creates compelling and intelligent stories drawing on her rich and varied life. She holds a PhD in Western Esotericism and the occult features in all of her writing. In her works published with Odyssey Books, Isobel gives voice to her lighter side, with tales set on the exotic Canary Islands, in the exquisite forests of the Dandenong Ranges east of Melbourne, and in the old Colonial town of Fremantle in Western Australia.

Isobel is the author of the novels Asylum (2015) , The Drago Tree (2015) and A Perfect Square (2016) and the short story collection All Because of You (2016), all released by Odyssey Books. Isobel also writes dark fiction. Her novels, The Cabin Sessions (2017) and The Legacy of Old Gran Parks (2018) are both released by HellBound Books.

Isobel regularly speaks on radio and is an excellent public speaker. In 2017 Isobel was short-listed for a prestigious writing fellow fellowship with the National Library of Australia, for a work based on the Theosophical Society. Isobel has been awarded a mentorship with the Australasian Horror Writers Association to co-edit a 2018 issue of their magazine, Midnight Echo.
