This book will change your life and how you see it?
* Spot on with the world we find ourselves living within.
* Spiritual and feisty.
* A deep and hopeful undertone.
* Insightful and helpful.
* Dystopian and utopian - two distinct lands are presented in a shocking and thought provoking way.
* Just what the world is silently demanding – an acknowledgment of a subconscious cry of help.
* I hope this book can assist people in understanding themselves and the world we live in. As one reviewer described the book: “it helped me find joy in the madness (of the world).”
* Mastrick of jala, Inc. provides a fresh new context for the human experience in the futuristic world presented – allowing readers to consider themselves in a different light and out of the standard American/current world culture.
Withering, wondering, Mastrick of jala, Inc. lives in a world that answers everything for her. The problem is, she despises the answers and feels that all of the true questions are not even considered. In a world where Mastrick seemingly has it all, she knows she in fact owns nothing and knows almost no one. This world is jala, Inc. Little does she know, there is another uncharted land that she will be sent to soon…or does she really know anything at all?
A coming of age tale of sorts: an adult, Mastrick, desperately wants truth and freedom, and at the same time she wants to grow into a person who finally has it figured out. Happiness, fulfillment ... everything. Can she find faith in a world where faith is outlawed? How can faith be found in such a loud world and when truth is said to be false? … Or even just trashed, not even labeled as false?
Flights take her to cities, and those cities are connected by a system of roadways and trains. Beyond that, in those exotic and faraway areas of the world, what is really there? Mastrick has little to do with technology, let alone the people that create and control global maps. Daily, Mastrick is uncomfortably filled with questions, concerns, and fears. She somewhat knows what she wants, but can she ever get it? Even partially? And … does it matter, with all things considered?
In a nation where all artistic expression is deemed worthless by the “Commission,” creativity is in dire need. With the movement of people from place to non-place, time does not seem to matter.
One short slip down a circular hole, Mastrick arrives. But where? It is a new system of travel called Podness: pods that finesse travel. Maybe not really new, but new to her. Does it matter how she arrived? She did not choose to go there in the first place. All of the facts and figures presented to her about her new world still seem unnatural and unbelievable in most every way.
Will Mastrick’s new acquaintances help or hurt her? Will her current—and soon to be past—connections haunt or relieve her with their absence? Will she find what she is looking for? Join Mastrick on her tumultuous and thought-provoking journey. …
This short novel will leave you satisfied and waiting for Part II all at once. Enjoy.

What People Are Saying:
"This book is exciting in its originality and freshness. It's different. The writer demonstrates incredible unconventional talent, imagination, deep thinking and the ability to put it all together in a thought-provoking manner. As I read, I saw a stage play with Larson projecting his unique talent with words and hands around very serious concepts. ... Mastrick of jala, Inc. makes me reflect on the hidden messages that are barely glimpsed. I was captured by the unusual format, loved the chapter titles, the concept of time, the God element woven in with a sprinkling of Bible quotes. The analogies were visual and delightful. Mastrick of jala, Inc. could and should have a long run on a best sellers list." - Maryann Wakefield, Author

Garrett is interested in the intersection of pop culture, current events, the way we live our lives, why we make the decisions we do, the American Dream/Dilemma, and the interconnection or disconnection with/from faith in the world we find ourselves living in the present day. He loves art as much as writing and has had two pop-up galleries featuring his work. Garrett blogs at www.garrettlarson.info - Instagram @ garrettlarson7.

"I really enjoyed getting lost in Garrett Larson's creative world. A very unpredictable plot, with ideas I haven't
seen or read ever before. It made me think about so many important
issues. Really looking forward to more from this author!"

"4.5 stars. I appreciate art in all forms for what it is. ... It's different from my normal read. It forced me
to think more about what's being said and how it's said. The writing
doesn't follow the track of understood conventions, but the author makes
a deliberate choice to do things in a way that makes the reader slowly
expand the boundaries of what they expect from a book. It's a short,
fascinating read that draws the reader in and doesn't let go until it
reaches the end."
