Danielle Gilchrist grew up in the Anacostia section of Washington, DC. She first discovered her love for writing in high school while studying Shakespeare sonnets. She spent most of her time writing poems as a way to escape reality and to express herself. After years of writing poetry, she was encouraged by her late mother to enter a short story contest. She wrote the story, but never got a chance to enter the contest due to her mother’s death. Now, seven years later, she is ready to fulfill her lifelong dream.
Danielle decided to start Captivating You With Words, a site where she shares her passion for reading and writing by highlighting some of her favorite books and posting her works. Today, Danielle has written over 30 unpublished poems and short stories, and recently released her debut novel, Repercussions of Infidelity. She is currently an X-Ray Tech at a busy private medical facility. In her spare time, she likes to read, listen to music, and tackle DIY projects.
