About the Book    About the Author

The soldiers at Walter Reed know that war can be brutal and cruel. The

biggest battle is often fought after they leave the battlefield.

Ava Sawyer knows the cost of war too well. As a volunteer at Walter Reed she sees the men and woman rotate through the halls as the nation tries to heal it’s heroes. Using music and movement, she encourages the wounded vets to find a new rhythm in their lives.

Mark Taylor thought his dreams had ended, until a beautiful woman dances into his life and his heart.

Will the scars of war be too much to handle, or can love conquer all?

Editorial Reviews

This short story is just perfect. Mark is a war veteran disabled in conflict. Ava volunteers at the hospital he is rehabilitating at as a dance instructor. This is a story of love, loss and new beginnings. It is written in such an emotionally charged way that I connected with the characters and their strong feelings for each other. Ava sees past the disabilities to see the man inside and Mark feels her unconditional love and gains strength from it.This could be a true story I am sure. It reminds the reader of the extremes the armed forces put themselves under to serve and protect their country.I was quite amazed at how much attention to detail and the feelings within me this story evoked considering its length. I will be recommending this story and other work by this author. This short story is just perfect. Mark is a war veteran disabled in conflict.
